This month
Your 12-month posting calendar
Four posts a month, one a week. Post them as Updates, or as Offers when you run a promotion.
Why most Google profiles go quiet
Posting stops the first busy week, and the profile looks abandoned.
Nothing to post about
Most owners stop because they can't think of what to say. A plan fixes that.
Posts that don't match the season
Talking about AC tune ups in December is a wasted post. Timing makes posts useful.
A stale profile
A last post from eight months ago tells customers you might not be busy, or open.
Google Business Profile posts, explained
What they are, where they show up and what to put in them.
What is a Google post?
A short update that shows on your Google Business Profile, with a photo and a button like Call or Learn more. It is a free way to show recent work right where customers are deciding.
What should I post?
Real job photos, seasonal tips, service spotlights and answers to common questions. Keep it short and specific to your town.
Avoid stock photos and long sales pitches.
Do posts help with AI search?
They add fresh, specific information about your services and area to your profile. That helps AI assistants and customers see what you actually do, and that you are active.
How long do posts stay up?
Updates stay on your profile, but newer posts show first. Offers end on the date you set. Posting weekly keeps something recent at the top.

Common questions about Google posts
How often should I post on Google Business Profile?
Once a week is a good, sustainable pace for most service businesses. Consistency matters more than volume. A profile that posts every week looks active to customers.
Do Google posts help rankings?
Google doesn't say posts are a ranking factor. What posts clearly do is keep your profile fresh, show recent work and give customers more reasons to call. That is worth doing on its own.
What makes a good Google post?
A real photo from a recent job, one or two short sentences and a clear next step like calling or requesting a quote. Skip stock photos.
What is the difference between an Update and an Offer?
An Update is a general post. An Offer is for a promotion and includes a title and start and end dates. Only use Offers when you are actually running one.
Can Local Algo post for me?
Yes. Weekly posting to your Google Business Profile is part of every Local Algo plan. See Local SEO.
