Google and AI search, fully managed
Local SEO

Rank in the map pack and in the answers AI gives

Customers find local companies two ways now. They search and pick from the three map results, or they ask an assistant who to call and get a shortlist. Both are decided by the same signals, and both are what we work on every week.

Managed for you. Nothing for you to log into.

The problem

Why most local businesses stall

A profile filled out once and a website nobody maintains will not hold position against companies doing the work every week.

The profile was set and forgotten

Categories, services and service areas chosen at signup, never revisited, so you compete for the wrong searches.

You cannot see where you rank

Searching your own name proves nothing. Ranking changes street by street across your service area.

Nobody checks the AI answer

Most owners have never asked an assistant who to call in their trade and seen whether they get named.

What we do

The work behind both kinds of search

Done on your account every week, not handed to you as a checklist.

Category and service tuning

Primary and secondary categories, service list and service area aimed at the searches that actually produce calls.

Full profile build out

Description, hours, attributes, products, questions and answers, and the fields most profiles leave blank.

Autopilot posting

Posts published to your profile every week so it stays active without you writing anything.

Block by block rank tracking

A live grid across your service area showing where you rank for your money keywords.

AI answer readiness

Structured, consistent information and question answering content, which is what assistants read when they build a shortlist.

Listing monitoring

We watch for suggested edits, category changes and issues that quietly cost you visibility.

The basics

How local map rankings actually work

Worth understanding before you pay anyone to work on them, including us.

What is the Google map pack?

When someone searches a service plus a place, Google puts a map at the top with three business listings under it. That block is the map pack, and it sits above the normal blue link results.

For most home service searches those three listings take the majority of the clicks and calls. Ranking fourth means being one tap away behind a More businesses button, which very few people press.

What is a rank grid?

Your position in the map pack is not one number. It changes depending on where the person searching is standing. A rank grid, sometimes called a geo grid, checks your ranking from a grid of points spread across your service area and shows each result as a colored pin.

Green means you are in the top three from that spot. Amber means four to ten. Red means you are effectively invisible there. One picture tells you which neighborhoods you own and which ones you do not.

Why do I rank at my shop but not across town?

Proximity is one of Google's strongest local ranking factors. The closer a searcher is to your registered address, the easier it is for you to appear. That is why almost every business looks like it ranks well when the owner searches from the office.

Ranking further out has to be earned with everything else: category and service accuracy, profile completeness, review volume and wording, activity, and the relevance of your website. That is the work, and the grid is how you measure it.

Does the same work help with AI search?

Largely, yes. When someone asks an assistant who to call for a service in their area, the model builds a shortlist from structured business information, website content and reviews. Those are the same signals the map pack runs on.

What changes is the emphasis. Consistency across sources and content that plainly answers real questions matter more, because a model is summarizing rather than listing links.

In practice

What this looks like in a real week

Four situations, and what the system does in each one.

Roofing

A hail storm hits one side of town

  • SituationHail comes through and a few hundred homeowners start searching roof repair and hail damage roof within days.
  • What happensYour profile is already posting and complete, and the rank grid shows whether you are green in those specific subdivisions or only near your office.
  • Why it mattersStorm work is street by street. Ranking in the neighborhood that got hit is worth more than ranking city wide.
HVAC

First real heat wave of the summer

  • SituationUnits start failing and people search ac repair near me and ac not cooling, then call whoever appears first.
  • What happensYour categories and services are set for repair as well as install, so you appear for the emergency search, not just the replacement one.
  • Why it mattersEmergency searches convert within the hour. Being fourth is the same as not being listed.
Landscaping

Spring cleanup season opens

  • SituationSearches for landscaping contractor and yard cleanup climb through February and March.
  • What happensThe profile has been posting through winter and the site has pages for each service and each town you serve.
  • Why it mattersVisibility takes time to build. The work done in the quiet months is what fills the busy ones.
Permanent lighting

The season starts in September

  • SituationA small but high intent group searches permanent Christmas lights and year round lighting, using several different names for the same product.
  • What happensThe profile and site cover each of those phrasings rather than betting on one.
  • Why it mattersLow volume, low competition and ready to buy. Missing the phrasing means missing the whole search.

Questions

Common questions about Local SEO

How long before I move in the map pack?

It depends on your market, your category competition and the state of your profile when we start. What we can promise is that the work happens every week and that you watch the rank grid move or not move, which is more than most agencies will show you.

Can you guarantee an AI assistant recommends me?

No, and anyone who guarantees that is selling you something. These systems choose what to name and they change constantly. What we can do is make sure you are complete, consistent and credible across everything they read.

Do I have to give you access to my Google account?

We need manager access to your Google Business Profile. You stay the owner the entire time.

What if my profile is suspended?

We look at it during the audit and tell you honestly what it will take to get reinstated before we start optimizing.

Is this the same as SEO for my website?

They work together. The profile and map side is one half. Your website, which is included with your plan, is the other. Both feed the same rankings and the same AI answers.

Does the rank grid cost extra?

No. It is part of the plan and it shows up in your weekly report. You can look at it any time rather than waiting for a screenshot from us.

What if I serve a big area from one address?

That is the normal case and it is exactly what the grid is for. We set your service area correctly and then work on ranking further from your address, which is the part that has to be earned.

Do I need to keep my old SEO company too?

Usually not, and we will tell you straight if we think you do. What we will not do is quietly duplicate work you are already paying someone else for.

Every part of Local Algo works with the others. One platform, one flat rate.
